Broadcast celebrates TV’s finest at 2010 Awards PDF Print E-mail

The X Factor, Man on Wire and A Short Stay in Switzerland were amongst the winners at this year’s Broadcast Awards, which celebrate the highlights from the past twelve months in television.

James Marsh’s Man on Wire triumphed in Best Documentary Programme, A Short Stay in Switzerland saw Directors UK Board Member Simon Curtis awarded the Best Single Drama prize, whilst Ben Thursby’s work as director on The X Factor contributed to the show’s success in the Best Entertainment Programme category.

The writer/director duo Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin had cause

for celebration as their hit sitcom Outnumbered took home the Best Comedy Programme award, and Best Popular Factual Programme went to Inside Nature’s Giants, directed by Julian Thomas and Jamie Lochhead.

Other winners include The Street, directed by David Blair and Terry McDonough, in the Best Drama Series or Serial, and Charlie Russell’s Terry Pratchett: Living with Alzheimer’s, which won the Best Documentary Series.
